About “White Gold”

A Tale of Tradition and Transformation

At its heart, White Gold is a celebration of rice—the lifeblood of Cambodia, affectionately dubbed “white gold” for its cultural and economic significance. The story follows a young villager who, after a costly mistake, embarks on a journey far from home. Along the way, he discovers a world where rice transforms from a symbol of tradition into a commodity driven by profit and labor. Through breathtaking acrobatics, vivid visual arts, and emotive theater, the show explores themes of resilience, community, and the struggle to preserve heritage in a rapidly changing world.

Non-verbal and universally accessible, White Gold captivates audiences of all ages and backgrounds. From gravity-defying flips to stunning artistic backdrops, every moment is designed to immerse viewers in Cambodia’s rich cultural tapestry.
