Well, Esplanade’s annual Flipside festival invites you to flip that notion. From 24 May to 2 June, we dive into physical comedy, puppetry and circus arts, to celebrate play and innovation in performance as they intersect in some of the most unexpected ways.

About the festival
Esplanade’s most playful festival returns with 10 days of laugh-out-loud, imaginative and unexpected performances and encounters. Celebrate creativity and life through physical theatre, puppetry, comedy, music, and visual art and design, as they intersect in surprising ways. Experience art and sound installations with free and ticketed performances by local and international artists.
