Beyond Angkor Wat: Two Cities, One Circus Festival
You’ve seen the sunrise at Angkor Wat. If you’re in Cambodia in mid-November 2026, there’s a good reason to look beyond Angkor temples.
Tini Tinou means “here and there” in Khmer. It’s a biennial international circus arts festival, and this year it runs in two cities: Siem Reap and Battambang. It’s a local festival, built by Cambodian artists, with troupes joining from countries including Japan, South Korea, India, France, Germany, Australia, Vietnam, and Laos.
Think of it as an arts corridor from Angkor to Battambang. Start in Siem Reap, then continue to Battambang, the home of the Phare Ponleu Selpak arts school that Phare Circus grew out of. You get temples, live performances, then a very different Cambodian city.
