Each emergency relief package costs $60 and includes:
- 50kg bag of rice
- Dried fish or other protein, Instant noodles, cooking oil, sanitary items
- $10 cash
You can help provide food security to Phare Circus artists and staff who have lost their incomes due to the COVID pandemic. The COVID pandemic halted international tourism to Cambodia since March 2020.While cases are decreasing in many parts of the world, Cambodia is experiencing difficult times.
Before the pandemic, international guests filled the big top, providing gainful employment to 150 staff and artists. A limited weekend schedule was offered as circumstances permitted, but domestic demand didn't cover costs. Shows were frequently suspended due to increases in local COVID cases. Despite everyone's mighty efforts, it has become necessary to temporarily suspend all operations. It's the only way to conserve cash and assure Phare Circus' long-term survival.
Phare will continue to provide a monthly stipend to artists to keep training, and a reduced administrative staff for essential tasks. However you can help bridge the gap. Your donation will help provide emergency relief packages to eliminate food insecurity during the temporary closure.
