Get your groove on and celebrate 60’s style

Phare, The Cambodian Circus, Abacus Garden Restaurant and musician, Ned Evett are coming together on March 28 to throw a 60’s dance party in order to benefit Sam Veasna.

So get your hair up high and we’ll see you there!

This event will be the first time the Phare band will officially perform separate from the circus artists and we’re excited for people to marvel at their talent, which we think is incredible!

The event is being held to benefit The Sam Veasna Centre, an organisation working in fpr wildlife conservation in Cambodia. They have been a registered local NGO with the Ministry of Interior since 2006 and their goal is to provide alternative, sustainable livelihoods through ecotourism for the local communities around conservation sites.

The organisation was set up to continue the work of a young man called Sam Veasna. He was a pioneering Cambodian naturalist who tragically died of malaria in 1999 aged 33 while surveying the Northern Plains of Cambodia for the now extinct Kouprey. During his short life he was responsible for discovering and cataloguing many of the most important sites for conservation in Northern Cambodia, including the discovery of large numbers of Sarus Crane at Ang Trapaeng Thmor. The Sam Veasna Center was set up in his memory to promote conservation throughout Cambodia and find ways to continue his work protecting the endangered species of the country.

Phare Cambodian Band is honoured to be a partner, helping promote this marvellous organisation. The evening will be a fun and memorable affair with great entertainment focused on ‘Cambodia in the 60’s.

The party will be held at the Abacus Garden Restaurant, and no reservation is required, just rock on up! There will be an opening introduction about the work of SVC’s wildlife conservation in Cambodia and lucky draw spot-prizes throughout the night. It’s free entry and the profits from food and drink throughout the night will go towards SVC.

Don’t forget to don your best 60’s outfit! We’ll see you on the dance floor…
