With the incredible support of Cambodian businesses with socially responsible outlooks Phare Performing Social Enterprise and Phare Ponleu Selpak are overjoyed to be bringing the Tini Tinou International Circus Festival back to the Big Tops of Cambodia.

An annual event from 2004 the festival had to stop in 2010 because of funding difficulties. This year with the support of ANZ Royal, Smart, Cambodia Airports, Total alongside, l’Institut Francais of Phnom Penh, Harlequin, and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts we are able to revive the festival to its former glory.

Dara HUOT, the CEO of Phare Performing Social Enterprise says; “thanks to the socially responsible companies in Cambodia these community lead events and grass-root projects that give impact and opportunities for young Cambodian children to be inspired are possible. We want to spread a call for action and let other companies in Cambodia know to take action, take corporate social responsibilities seriously and together we can work towards greatness in Cambodia. There are many great companies and organisations in Cambodia, not just Phare, which really work on the ground to hep Cambodians. You can help for them to be inspired, for them to achieve great things in their lives.”

From May 7 – 16 circus troupes from Cambodia, Switzerland, Vietnam, France and Taiwan will travel from Phnom Penh, to Siem Reap, to Battambang – performing together and sharing their art and culture. The festival focuses on the idea of sharing and broadening minds and ideas on performing arts and the different styles of circus from across the globe.

“There is no competition in this festival, there are no prizes. The festival is about sharing, collaboration and networking between Cambodian and International artists. Travelling through the three main cities of Cambodia. The aim is to broaden the festival’s reach, giving wider audiences across Cambodia a new theatrical experience and opportunity to see world-class performers.”

We would like to say a huge thank you to our gold sponsors this year; Smart, ANZ Royal and Cambodia Airports. We also need to extend these thanks to silver sponsor Total. A special Thank you goes directly to the French Institute of Phnom Penh who is facilitating and widely supporting the coming of the brilliant French troupe. Without the help of these businesses we would not be able to hold such a widely accessible and diverse festival.

Both ANZ and Smart will be supporting for a second year after the success of the 2014 revival. Mrs SUOS Paomealea from Smart says; “we are very excited to be able to be part of offering this inspirational event to Cambodians living across the country.”

The three main missions of this festival are to:

  • Give artistic opportunities to artists from the region to perform internationally
  • Give underprivileged kids from NGOs in Cambodia access to top quality artistic shows
  • Contribute to developing Cambodia as a cultural hub, making this a festival which all Cambodians can be proud of

The Tini Tinou Cambodian Circus Festival supports the sharing and development of Cambodian culture and arts by inviting underprivileged children and youth, free-of-charge, from different NGOs and organizations.

Save the dates and don’t miss out on this unique and diverse event:

  • Phnom Penh 7th, 8th, 9th May
  • Siem Reap 11th, 12th, 13th May
  • Battambang 15th, 16th May
